Save the Pacific Forest by Donating Shares of Stocks

The threats facing the Pacific Forest may be surpassed by its diversity of forest types and richness in rare and endangered species.

The Pacific Forest is home to six types of forest: chocó rainforest,
premontane cloud forest, moist evergreen forest, semi-deciduous
forest, tropical dry forest, and mangrove forest. In the Capuchin Corridor, all of these forests can be encountered during a single day’s hike.

The Pacific Forest also harbors an extraordinary number of species,
many of them rare and endangered, including the grey-cheeked
parakeet, gray-backed hawk, Mache glassfrog, and of course the
Ecuadorian white-fronted capuchin monkey. Overall, the Pacific Forest is home to more than 6,000 species of plants, more than 140 species of amphibians, and more than 450 species of birds.

By donating shares of stocks you can help stop tropical deforestation and protect endangered species in this incredible biodiversity hotspot before they are gone forever. *Currently, the minimum stock donation in USD value is $500.

Why Donate Stocks?

Impact of Your Stock Donation

100% of your stock donation goes directly towards protecting and expanding the conservation and reforestation efforts in the Jama-Coaque Reserve.

In general, it costs approximately $700 to purchase and protect an acre of pristine rainforest in the Pacific Forest of Ecuador. Donating a few shares of commonly held stocks like Apple (AAPL), Facebook (META), or Tesla (TSLA) would completely cover this cost!

Tax Efficient Giving

Donating shares of stocks can provide more benefits than cash donations. When you donate stocks to TMA you eliminate capital gains taxes that would normally be due when selling your stock.

Your donation of appreciated stocks to TMA helps ensure that we’re able to continue protecting and restoring the Pacific Forest of Ecuador. All proceeds go directly towards purchasing more threatened forest and supporting local families who are working with TMA to restore their degraded pastureland.
